Artwork Guides
Creating artwork files for print is probably the major step from turning those creative ideas in your head into a finished work of art! Our detailed guide is here to ensure a seamless transition from idea to print, covering everything from file types and sizes to essential tips for preparing your artwork. This guide is your go-to resource for successfully uploading your files to our website, ensuring your vision comes to life exactly as you imagined.
Please Note: Submitting only logos and images does not constitute a print-ready file. Should you provide these elements alone, an additional fee for graphic design services will apply.
Color Considerations: Understanding RGB and CMYK
- RGB: Used exclusively for digital screens (TVs, computers, smartphones), RGB colors are not suitable for printing. Artwork in RGB may result in unexpected color shifts in the final print.
- CMYK: Our printing process uses CMYK colors, ensuring the printed artwork matches your design’s intended colors. For a rich, vibrant black, use the formula C: 50% M: 50% Y:50% K: 100%.
Accepted File Types for Effortless Uploading:
For a hassle-free upload experience through our website, we recommend saving your artwork as a PDF or JPEG. This method secures your design’s integrity, preventing any shifts or changes when viewed on our end. If your design is not in JPEG or PDF format, or if you encounter upload issues, you can email us your artwork in one of the following formats after placing your order:
- PDF, JPEG, PNG, AI, EPS, PSD, TIFF
Simply email your file to design@h2ocustommade.store with your order number as the subject. We’ll promptly send you a proof for approval to ensure your artwork is precisely as you want before printing.
Choosing the Right File Type:
Each file format serves a specific purpose, impacting the quality and usability of your design:
- JPEG: Ideal for high-quality printing; ensure it’s saved at high resolution (at least 300dpi).
- PDF: Best for designs from Adobe programs; universally compatible.
- PNG: Great for web but not ideal for high-quality printing; can be saved with a transparent background.
- EPS: High-quality vector format for professional printing.
- TIFF: Maintains resolution regardless of how often it’s saved; used for photographs.
Handling Large Files:
Files exceeding 25MB cannot be uploaded directly to our site. Use WeTransfer or Dropbox to email large files to us with your order number as the subject line.
FAQs and Tips for File Preparation:
- Reducing File Size: Keep resolution at or above 300dpi for images, 150dpi for posters/banners. Use image editing software to adjust size without compromising quality.
- Troubleshooting Upload Issues: Common issues include file size over 25MB, unsupported file types, or special characters in the file name. Using Google Chrome or a private browser window may resolve upload problems.
